Text spacing on <select> element.

I have been testing the Text spacing on select options coded using the <select> element and observed they do not adjust to text spacing.
Is it a WCAG failure?
If yes, what will be the recommendation to fix the issue?

In my opinion, standard <select> elements do not support text spacing. Customized <select> elements, on the other hand, adapt to text spacing. From this perspective, I would consider it a failure.
